The Isaac Hers Story

Isaac Hers began from designer Barbara Seipp's drive to create a directional clothing label that still possessed a timeless, classic appeal. With this balance in mind, she founded the Isaac Hers label in the Spring of 2008.
Seipp studied sewing as a child under the tutelage of a master seamstress. With this instruction, she developed a skill for tailoring garments and an impeccable understanding of cut, fabric, and fit. As an adult she abandoned sewing to pursue a career as an engineer, then a lawyer. All the while, Seipp felt the pull to create.
Today, she designs and manufactures the Isaac Hers line from her studio in Portland, Oregon. The collection incorporates soft tailoring, directional feminine silhouettes, and a minimalist sophistication. Seipp's design aesthetic paired with her keen eye for quality and construction make Isaac Hers a quickly growing and sought after label.
Sustainability is important at Isaac Hers. That’s why every item in the Isaac Hers collection is designed, sourced, and handmade in the United States by someone earning a living wage in a safe work environment.
The flagship store is located in Portland’s West End at the corner of Southwest 13th Avenue and West Burnside Street in the Black Box building. The brick-and-mortar store features clothing, jewelry, and accessories from national and local designers.
